Developmental design of a composite steel girder system.  Conducting and reporting on preliminary testing, liaison with Sydney University and the CSIRO for their test programs, developing design tables in grade 350 and 450 for use in Australia and overseas, and design of buildings up to 100 metres clear span.

Developmental design of generic building systems using cold-formed structural cladding with profile depths up to 400mm.  Building configurations included flat rooves in single or continuous span; portal buildings eliminating all purlins and all structural steel framing; various A-shape and curved buildings for industrial and agricultural storages.

Preparation of load capacity tables for cold-formed structural cladding with profile depth up to 370mm using a range of cover widths and steel thicknesses

 

  • Steel Arch / Fabric Composite System (see photos)

Design of a range of kit-form steel arch buildings with canvas cladding.  Spans range from 5 to 40 metres.  Arch supports include various shipping container configurations up to three containers high.

Developmental design of generic building systems using cold-formed structural cladding with profile depths up to 315mm.  Building configurations were large free spanning ground-to-ground arch buildings with various wall combinations.  Applications include industrial and agricultural storages as well as indoor sports complexes, swimming pools and aircraft hangars.
